Post Hair Fair Releases

This first one I started quite some time ago and never got around to finishing it for some reason.  Out of curiosity I checked the prim dates to see exactly when I started it and when I saw August 31, 2010 to Sept 6th I think it was I thought, 'Ah yeah. That explains it.'  That was about the time I got the biopsy results and found I had cancer for the 2nd time. But the chemo and radiation is all done now. I just have two surgeries to go so I'm of two minds about it - I'm not sure if I should be waving the happy flag of "Woohoo" or the white flag of 'Enough is Enough'.
I've called this one Sovereign and I had a lot of fun doing the shots for it.  It's a kind of 'over the top' piece featuring enormous curls, pearls and bows.  (A friend calls it 'rolla' hair.)  And for those of you who are curious, below is the difference between Bone and Argent from the Dead Pack.

 And just for a different take on things, Seven modelled the hair with a distinctly....uhhh ...Gothic(?) flair.
Style Notes:
Elke is wearing:

Seven is wearing:
Dress - Tsarina by Avid
Shoes - Skull Fetish Boots by Unique Needs
Skin - Elle Pale by Belleza

Next up is Chapeau. Yeah I know, I lacked a little creativity on the naming. Yes, it's 'hat hair'. Literally.

This style doesn't have any tips colors so the Dead Pack and Complete Packs have been adjusted in price to reflect this.

Skin: Sara Pearl (with red lips tattoo layer) by Tuli

Hair Fair 2011

So it's that time of year again in Second Life.  Hair Fair is here and with it comes a plethora of new styles, designers, bandanas and gifts to overwhelm the residents.  I started building very late this year which resulted in some long hours, many pots of coffee and the occasional panic attack.  I've got five styles out for the women - sorry guys but it just wasn't flowing for me.  I'll go back and finish it once things have settled down.  I actually have a few styles I started and abandoned because I was fighting with them.  I'll get those done and out in the future as well.  On to the goodies. (This is going to be a long post...)

First up is Meena.  This one is a short, flippy do.  I didn't intend it as a retro thing but when I started doing the promo shots for it, it just kinda came out that way.

Style 2, which has a funky twist, is Neoteric.  This is an updo that has curls spilling forward from an open zipper running up the back of the hair.

Style Notes:
Red Dress - Flirt by Cleo Couture
Black Dress - Bo by LeeZu
Jewelry - Milky Way 2 by Mandala

"Cry Baby" by Roisin Murphy
"Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" by Offspring

This one, which I called Leviathan, was done at the last minute.  I had been rewatching old episodes of Farscape which is where the inspiration for this one came from. When I had told a certain someone that I wasn't doing anything wild for Hair Fair this year, I didn't lie as this one hadn't even entered my mind yet.  This has five bound hair tubes terminating in a short tuft of hair in the front. Braids encircle the head with some flexi at the sides and back.

Style Notes:

Makeup - Nuuna's Tattoo Layer Makeups v7 by Nuuna's Skins

Finally is one I called 10 Hour Hair.  It's a circle of hair twists with a small braid spanning the gap at the top.

Style Notes:
Skin - Audrey Tone 2 by Tuli
Clothing - Stripes by PixelDolls
Jewelry - Dusk Velvet Choker Set by Earthstones
Playlist: "Blow" by Ke$ha
"Electric" by Lisa Scott-Lee

Next is the gift I have out in the booth.  I thought I would do something a bit different this year so rather than do hair, I did a hat.

And finally, the bandanas.  I only did three this year because I didn't have time to do any more than that. I would have liked to do more but it just wasn't possible.

Remember, Bandana Day is July 15th and 100% of the sales go to Wigs For Kids

Golden Shapes

Ugh. I've tried writing this post I don't know how many times now. I'm tired of having things I've worked hard on usurped so, even though this post won't amount to a hill of beans at least I'll have the satisfaction of taking credit for something I've spent a lot of time perfecting and putting it out first.  It's free for group members for two weeks and will be for sale in the store...and won't cost an arm and a leg either.

This shape will look good with a wide variety of skins since the face has been created using the golden ratio.  For those of you who don't know what that is, it's the mathematical formula for beauty (in a nutshell).   If the eyebrow shape isn't to your liking, well, that's your own thing as it's adjustable in appearance mode under the "hair" tab (it's part of your bald base).

The shape is copy/modify/no transfer so you can tweak if you want to.  I know some of you like wider hips, longer legs, etc, etc than what this shape has.

Meet Annie

It's time for another release and it will probably be the last one before Hair Fair but who knows.  It all depends on whether or not I find my building mojo which seems to be on hiatus at the moment.

Annie May is the title for this one which is an updo of sorts.  The hubby was irking me with anime last week and the word stuck in my head, thus the name.  (Just nod your head and move along.)

Yeah, pretty tame compared to some of the stuff I put out but I like variety.  This one is pulled to the side into a kind of knot.
     Something I keep forgetting about but was pointed out the other day, is my windlight settings.  The Lighting Settings I use are as follows:
Sun/Moon Color:
R = 0.51
G = 0.52
B = 0.55
I = 0.55
Sun/Moon Position = 0.000
Ambient:
R = 0.35
G = 0.32
B = 0.32
I = 0.35
Sun Glow = 0.10
Size = 1.75
Scene Gamma = 2.03
East Angle = 0.50

I've recently made the switch to the Phoenix viewer so if you use that one the *Canimod and *Starley* Settings 2 presets will also work.

Style Notes:
Skin - "Cleo V2 cream by Dutch Touch
Dress - Hauteness! by Cleo Couture
Necklace & Earrings - BohemeMia by Leezu

The Insidious Byzantine

It's about this time of year that all things SL begin to slow down.  I'm sure it will probably be slower than usual inworld since it's been a pretty ugly winter all around and people are beginning to twitch for the chance to get outside.  Personally, I have been utterly caged indoors for 3 weeks and I think the strain is beginning to show. The hubby has made it his personal mission to get the lunatic on a supervised outing ever since he saw said lunatic laughing hysterically over watching Yoda say, "Lost your f***ing mind, you have."  Sadly, I can offer no reasonable explanation as to why this should elicit the response it did and still does. Now on to the title of the post.

Two new styles, the first is called Insidious.

This punk style has a bit of movement in it with stiff flexis giving the feel of hair that's been sprayed and gel'd so heavily into place you could snap it in half.  The dual braids on either side are decorated with beads in various colors/textures and a couple of hair strands that slip down in front.
Style Notes: Skin - Jade tone 1 by Tuli
Clothes - Black Velvet by Delirium
Lip Piercing - Gemma Lip Pierce 2 by Rozoregalia

I've been on a bit of an Asian hair kick lately.  I've been checking out the traditional hair and clothing styles and wow! The hair styles themselves are simple enough but the adornments are gorgeous and pretty elaborate.  Byzantine is a simple Asian influenced hairstyle.

The head piece for this style is optional, copy only, and attaches to the chin.  It's equipped with a menu system that allows for resizing, positioning, alpha/texture/color change, etc.  You can make individual changes to prims or you can change groups of prims.  The groups are chain, band, flower and gem.  The next two pictures give you a bit of a feel for your options.

The next set of images give you a feel for the drapes and twists in the hair.

Style Notes:
Clothes - Duchess Lace Dress by PixelDolls
Skin - Jade tone 1 by Tuli
Playlist - The Very Best of Artie Shaw album

I almost forgot to mention that the Jeolla region has undergone a bit of a makeover.  It's something I've been wanting to do for quite sometime but just never got around to it. There's a water section in the north west corner, a cabin by a stream in the north east corner with a marsh area right across from that.  There's a creepy forest section with the rest of the area being filled with birds, flowers and trees.  It's a place you can hang out, rp or just explore if you're bored.  I hope you enjoy it!

Finally! A new release

I've managed to recover enough from the chemo so that I can get a couple of styles out.  Chemo. Not exactly the kind of drugs I was hoping for....

I've got two new styles out in the store - first up is Bounce.

This is got a bit of flex to with wispy strands added to the longer side of the hair. There's also a bit of bedhead  with the tufts poking up from the crown.
Skin - Jade by Tuli
Shirt, Belt & Scarf - ToastMonstah by Delirium
Pants - Faded 3 Pants by Nein!
Ears - Yojo Elf Ears by NV

 Don't worry about the feathers. You're not going to come out looking like the chicken lady (and it's probably only the Canadians out there that get the reference on that one. I miss the chicken lady.)  Again with the hair pulled to one side but this time it creates poofy chaos and the feathers in the hair could either be 1) a reflection on the state of the hair i.e. rat's nest or 2) trophies from the ex you just plucked.
Okay...okay. I'm going to stop there because it's 3:13 am and I no longer have a clue what I'm talking about.

Clothes and boots - Trippin by Delirium
Skin - Lea III by T&T Design

And, of course, for you music lovers here's the Playlist:
"No Regrets", "Stripper" and "Bang Bang Bang Bang" by Sohodolls
"Stain" and "Witch Hunt" by Mz Ann Thropik
"Connection" by Elastica
"Black Balloon" and "Night Train" by The Kills

Time for another one

There's four styles I've been picking away at for awhile.  When one gets me frustrated I'd move on to another. When they all start to frustrate me, it's time to start building something completely different because there's just times you completely lose your building mojo.  Below is one of the ones I was picking at.

This one is Atomic Kitten.  This is a couple of static ponies with straight cut bangs and there's a bit of sculpty use for the pony ends.

I have an evil, evil friend that insists on taking me shopping to all these new places she's found. The skin is a result of one of those shopping trips.
